Samsung Galaxy S7
So I have been a Samsung fan boy for a very long time, starting with Samsung headsets, tvs, and the original Galaxy. When the Note 4 came out, I rushed to grab it; and it was glorious. Glorious right up until I hit that fatal time when it’s battery began to wane and become all but worthless. Limiting my use time to no more than a few hours, if lucky, between charges.
After suffering through it for months, having to use portable batteries and carry a charger for any situation all the time, I decided it’s time for a change. I contacted my Verizon rep, and asked them for the most current deal, which at the time was free upgrades seeing as I’m on that edge plan. Not wanting to have another unfortunate incident this time around like I did with the note, I decided to go this time with the new Galaxy S7. Knowing that I’m giving up the screen size and CPU speed, I figured the better battery life and durability would be beneficial.
Well, now having had the Galaxy S7 for a few months, I have a few issues, but nothing that isn’t easily overcame. The first major issue I noted was the heat production, even while in ideal, is a bit more than one would expect from a phone. With the heat issue, it makes me very weary to to grab a case for the phone. The other problem I’ve found, is that damned finger print scanner, never works. I’ve even been able to use a never scanned finger to scan open things.
Other than those, the other issues are minor, and may be due to me having used a more powerful phone previously. Although on that thought, I do have to say the speed of the phone, even having only 2.2Ghz compared to the 2.7Ghz of the note, it’s very efficient and fast. I guess I’ll need to take more time to fiddle with things, it’s has only been 4 months since I got it. I’ll update here when I have more.
UPDATE #1: For Comparison purposes here are the side-by-side Specs between the phone i had (Note 4) and what i have now (Galaxy S7).
